BUS 111 - Introduction to Small Business Management This course provides an introduction to small business management. Students will learn about the different types of economic systems and measures of economic performance, phases of the business cycle, types of competition, and business ethics. The course covers social responsibility, international business challenges, and the advantages and disadvantages of different types of businesses. Students will also learn about management functions, production, human resources, motivation, and marketing, including the product life cycle, product mix, and pricing strategies. The course is designed to equip students with the foundational knowledge needed to succeed in managing small businesses.
General Education Requirements: Social Contexts and Institutions
Prerequisites: Competency and/or concurrent enrollment in basic reading, writing, and mathematics courses are a prerequisite for all business studies offerings with a prefix of ACC, BUS, MAN, or MAR.
