ENG 207 - Advanced Grammar A study of the basic theories and practices in modern grammar and usage, within the context of achieving command over written language. Although the course deals primarily with traditional grammar, introduction to generative, structural, and transformational systems may also be considered. While much of the course involves parsing, understood as the identification of syntactic structures, students apply this knowledge to achieve command over usage and demonstrate skillful proofreading.
