EDU 255 - Multicultural Literature for Children and Young Adults The purpose of this course is to examine the impact of cultural, linguistic, and ethnic diversity in literature and how it applies to teaching. It introduces students to a variety of literature in which students will review and evaluate the literature of underrepresented groups such as African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic Americans and European Americans. It also requires introspection and an examination of bias, power, and privilege.
Prerequisites: ENG 101 and EDU 112 or permission
