MLC 210 - Introduction to Modern Languages This course familiarizes students with fundamental questions of human language - what language is and how it works. This course studies where the modern languages come from, how they are related to one another and to ancient languages, and what happens when languages come into contact with one another. It serves as a basic introduction to linguistics as well as a primer in cultural and linguistic difference.
Class note: No prior knowledge of languages other than English is required or expected.
