CHY 492 - Advanced Integrated Laboratory II This course is the second semester of an advanced laboratory course that integrates inorganic, instrumental, and physical chemistry concepts. The purpose of the course is to build on and extend the laboratory and technical writing skills acquired in CHY 491, with an emphasis on more independent lab work. Students work collaboratively in teams and with faculty instructors to design and carry out an experimental plan that may be developed as a theme for CHY 491. Results will be presented using a combination of oral and written formats.
Core Curriculum/Core Requirements: Together with CHY 498’ , ‘this course satisfies the General Education Capstone Experience Requirement for the BS degree. Together with an upper level chemistry elective CHY 4XX’ , ‘this course satisfies the General Education Capstone Experience Requirement for the BA degree.
Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CHY 491. Chemistry majors only or permission.
