STS 215 - Introduction to Statistics for Business and Economics For students in the Maine Business School and for others concentrating in business or economics. A limited introduction to probability theory leading to discussion of distributions of random variables, in particular the normal and binomial families; a brief treatment of descriptive methods; an introduction to inferential statistics, including one- and two-sample procedures for estimation of parameters and for hypothesis testing; fundamentals of regression analysis or contingency table analysis or contingency table analysis as time permits.
Due to overlapping content, course repeat rules are applicable for STS 215 and STS 132.
