MAT 117 - Applications of Calculus A three-credit continuation to the introduction to calculus (MAT 116) primarily intended for students in business, life sciences, or social sciences. The focus is on applications and concepts, utilizing numerical, graphical and algebraic approaches and uses of technology. Utilizing and expanding on the variety of problem solving approaches developed in MAT 116, the focus will be on applications (such as optimization and accumulation) and additional topics including differential equations.
Due to overlapping content, credit previously earned for MAT 127 will be removed upon completion of MAT 117. Both grades will appear on the transcript and will be utilized in GPA calculations.
Departmental permission to enroll is required if previously completed MAT 127.
