THE 216 - Fundamentals of Directing Covers basic principles of stage directing including, conceiving a theatre production, choosing and interpreting performance texts, creating and conveying vision, collaborating with designers/crew, working with actors, leading rehearsals, staging action, and crafting a performance. Consequently, this is a “hands-on” course, in which students choose, possibly write, cast work, with actors, and direct their own small stage production.
