MAT 108 - Elementary Numerical Mathematics From A Modern Perspective Designed to prepare students to teach the non-geometric mathematics included in a modern NCTM STANDARDS based K-8 curriculum. Emphasis will be on the structure of arithmetic, development of good number sense, basic number theory, understanding probability and the use of descriptive statistics. Focuses on problem solving, and the development of arithmetic and algebraic reasoning skills.
General Education Requirements: Quantitative Literacy
Prerequisites: Elementary Education, Child Development-Early Childhood Education, and Art Education majors only.
