ECO 442 - Health Economics This course surveys major topics in health economics including: the economic determinants of health; the market for health care and insurance; the role of government. We focus on the health system in the United States with comparisons to other countries, as well as health system reform. We also consider special topics including: the health endowment; business cycles and health; socio-economic gradients in health; health externalities; health behaviors and outcomes.
