OVERVIEW OF DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum number of credits required to earn a minor: 18
GPA requirements to earn minor: Students graduating with a minor in a CLAS or MCEC field must earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better in the courses in the minor field that are credited
toward completion of the minor.
Minimum Grade requirements for courses to count toward minor: C-
Other GPA requirements: A minimum of 9 credit hours must be completed at the University of Maine. No more than nine credits may be applied to both any major and the GDD minor.

The Game Design and Development minor introduces a broad set of skills necessary for developing a game, including computer programming, modeling, storytelling, and sound design.
Courses are drawn from multiple departments on campus, including Computer Science, New Media, Human-Centered Technology and Design, Philosophy, English, Art, and Spatial
Computing.
Learning Outcomes:
- Develop problem-solving skills to design and prototype interactive games.
- Develop skills in one or more areas in Asset Generation: Audio, Storytelling, Character and Environmental Models.
- Explore how to conduct user-centered, participatory, and inclusive design.
