CRJ 291 - Qualitative Methods in Criminal Justice


This course provides an in-depth exploration of qualitative research methods used in criminal justice. Students will learn how to design and conduct qualitative studies, collect and analyze non-numerical data, and critically evaluate research findings. Topics include interviewing techniques, participant observation, case studies, ethnography, content analysis, and ethical considerations in qualitative research. Emphasis is placed on applying qualitative methods to real-world criminal justice issues, such as policing, corrections, victimology, and community responses to crime.

 

Cannot recieve credit for both CRJ 291 and SOC 291

Prerequisites: CRJ 290 or SOC 290
