EDU 329 - Elementary Social Studies Methods This course focuses on methods to teach elementary social studies curriculum and the diverse ways this component of the curriculum has been, and continues to be, defined in American schools. Students will explore a range of developmentally appropriate teaching strategies and resources that are especially pertinent to historical and cross-cultural topics, but also to procedures that are transferable to teaching other areas of the curriculum. Diffused throughout the course is an appreciation for cultural diversity and the value of looking at situations from multiple perspectives. This course is part of a 40-hour internship partnered with other key courses.
Prerequisites: EDU 216 and successful completion of the Core Academic Skills for Educators Praxis exam, or permission of instructor.
Corequisites: EDU 334 and EDU 337
