MLC 276 - Indo-European Folktales


Introduces students to various folktale genres and examines the aesthetic, social, historical and psychological values they reflect. Students will analyze the continuing influence of folktales on the literature and culture of French, German and Spanish speaking countires. Focuses on form, style, structure and meaning of such stories as well as various approaches to literary analysis and cultural criticism.

Satisfies the General Education Western Cultural Tradition and Cultural Diversity and International Perspectives Requirements.
