FRE 103 - Elementary French I: Module


A systematic study of the French language that allows for the intensive exploration of specific components of the language acquisition process. The semester is divided into four modules, each lasting three weeks and during which classes meet for one hour each day. Modules will focus on acquiring specific skills associated with early language development listening comprehension, speaking and vocabulary expansion. Students wishing a more formalistic approach to language learning can register for modules focused on developing reading and writing skills in which the analysis of language functions is stressed. For students with no previous study of French or fewer than two years in high school.

Satisfies the General Education Cultural Diversity and International Perspective Requirement.
