The basic architecture of the microcontroller with particular emphasis on the control and I/O sections. Structured assembly language programming of the microcontroller. Series and parallel data transfer. Analog-to-digital conversion principles. A design project will give students hands-on experience in hardware and software design and testing using microcontrollers.
