HON 175 - SL: Community Building and Engagement This course explores the nature of community and community engagement in relation to civic identity, responsibility, and social connectedness. Students will spend time in a sustainable island community off the coast of Rockland, Maine, and learn what it means to be part of such a society. During the semester, students plan and carry out service learning projects working with community partners. They reflect what it means to be part of a community through readings and participation in the community projects at times to be determined.
