PSE 224 - Site Analysis, Grading and Drainage An introduction to the landscape design site planning process, this course introduces students to reading the landscape in topographic map form and the principles of site manipulation to control hydrological function. Topics and exercises include recognizing existing site hydrology, directing surface water flow around structures and through subsurface systems, layout and grading for circulation, calculating cut and fill, retaining wall design and slope design. Course may include field trips outside of class on weekdays.
