Family Coaching and Mentoring Certificate II
|
|
With this second certificate, newly credentialed coaches segue into a mentoring role. A mentor analyses rather than evaluates a client’s strengths and weaknesses, supports activities to improve weak areas, and motivates to maintain striving for excellence of the client as a trusted and objective individual. In this role the mentor of newly certified Family Coaches also acts as editor for written work, clarifying language confusion in required paperwork. The intent of the relationship between mentor and mentee is to be extended in its duration and influence upon the learner.
A mentoring relationship is established to assist newly certified family coaches in advancing their professional growth. The role is an advisory one, to provide information and support. As a trusted and significant leader who could still be considered a peer, a mentor can share organizational knowledge and serve as a resource person, putting the mentee in touch with contacts, encouraging networking, and providing introductions for building professional relationships beyond the time of the formal mentor/mentee relationship.
Upon completing the Mentoring and Coaching Certificate II program, participants will be able to:
- Apply mentoring techniques and strategies in various aspects of performance as it relates to the family coaching profession.
- Demonstrate best practice of coaching techniques and strategies in various aspects of performance as it relates to the family coaching profession.
- Apply self-mentoring techniques and strategies in various aspects of performance as it relates to the family coaching profession.
- Formulate a code of conduct and ethics for mentoring and coaching practices.
- Plan and develop a mentoring, coaching, or self-mentoring program of implementation.
- Assess the effectiveness of mentoring, coaching, and self-mentoring programs.
