Tourism and related businesses are increasingly recognized as providing important job opportunities for Maine citizens. Resource Economics and Policy in cooperation with the Maine Business School have developed a certificate to help provide educational opportunities in this important area.

Tourism Certificate (22 Credits)
This certificate program is intended for those individuals, including students currently completing degrees as well as any other individuals, wishing to learn more about or gain employment in one of several tourism industries. This program will be available at both the University of Maine and the Frederick Hutchinson Center in Belfast. Since these courses will be delivered by University of Maine faculty at a University of Maine satellite campus, all courses completed in pursuit of the certificate will yield academic credits that can be applied toward the completion of other degree programs at the University of Maine or transferred for application toward the completion of degree programs at other institutions.
Prerequisites include: ECO 120 - Microeconomics (or equivalent) and BUA 201 - Principles of Financial Accounting. To complete the certificate, the following courses must be taken:
