BIO 311 - Animal Ecophysiology


Animal ecophysiology is the study of how animal forms and function are shaped by the environment. This course explores the physiological processes of animals with emphasis on energy metabolism, integrative organismal systems, and homeostatis. Animal ecophysiology is the study of how animal form and function are shaped by the environment. This course explores the physiological processes of animals with emphasis on energy metabolism, integrative organismal systems, and homeostasis. The class is designed to build on the basic knowledge of animal physiology that you learned in BIO200 and provide you with a broader understanding of physiological mechanisms and adaptations of animals to their environment.  BIO311 and SMS311 cannot both be taken for credit.



Prerequisites: BIO 200 or BIO 208 or SMS 201
