MEE 381 - Machine Design


Aspects of functional and safe design including proper use of software for design, kinematical design of machines, advanced concepts in mechanics of materials, and stress concentration. Design of mechanical components subjected to static and fatigue loads. Synthesis and selection of various machine components including shafts, bearings, gears and gear trains, screws and fasteners.



Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in MEE 251 and MEE 270

Course Typically Offered: Spring and Fall
