MAT 345 - History of Mathematics Offers an overview of the history of mathematics with an emphasis on the development of mathematical ideas. Designed to foster an understanding of the expression of mathematical ideas in a variety of different cultural contexts as well as an appreciation of the roots of modern mathematics.
Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in either MAT 261 or two MAT/STS classes numbered strictly higher than 228, or Department permission.
