ERS 101 - Introduction to Earth Science A study of earth materials and processes, including their impact on humans. Topics include plate tectonics, mineralogy, formation of igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks, geologic time, weathering and soil formation, evolution of mountain belts, earthquakes, climate change, water cycle, and surface processes. This course may include field trips outside of class time. Laboratory work includes the study of rocks, minerals, topographic maps, and aerial photographs.
