ANT 101 - Cultural Anthropology A comparative study of contemporary cultures and institutions with particular attention to primitive and peasant societies. Emphasized are such topics as human evolution and race; pre-scientific writings and ethnology; the concept of culture; language and perception; economics and technology; marriage, the family and kinship; associations, castes and classes; political organization and warfare; religion and magic; folklore and the arts; culture and personality; American culture; cross-cultural contact; and cultural change.
