CHY 122 - General Chemistry II Second semester of a two-semester sequence covering fundamental principles in chemical science presented in quantitative terms. Topics include gases, intermolecular forces, properties of solutions and solids, kinetics, equilibrium, acid-base chemistry, aqueous ionic equilibria, thermodynamics, and electrochemistry. This course and CHY 124 (taken concurrently) provide the foundation for all further studies in chemistry.
General Education Requirements: Together with CHY 124’ , ‘this course satisfies the General Education Lab in the Basic or Applied Sciences Requirement. Satisfies the General Education Applications of Scientific Knowledge Requirement when taken without CHY 124.
Prerequisites: A grade of C- or better in both CHY 121 and CHY 123.
