GIS 428 - Web-Based Maps, Applications & Services This is a practical and applied course covering design and delivery of web and mobile maps and applications, fundamentals of online databases, hosting and serving data and map services and basics of server management. The course will cover a variety of software and server providers, including Esri, Google and open source, focusing mainly on those with the greatest market share and practical value in the workplace. Students will work with services and cloud services in the course, which culminates in a real-world service project.
Prerequisites: GIS 300 and GIS 400, or permission of instructor.
