BIO 360 - Marine Ecology An advanced course in ecology comparing the population and community dynamics of a variety of intertidal and subtidal hard-and soft-bottom, planktonic, and coral reef communities. Topics include spatial relationships, competition, prey-predator relationships, symbiosis, behavioral patterns, seasonal cycles, succession, larval strategies, and productivity. Through field and laboratory work students learn to design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and write research papers. Lecture 2 hours, laboratory 4 hours.

Prerequisites: BIO 206, 227, 245, MAT 215 and MAT 315, or permission of instructor.
