ART 322 - Book Design & Publishing An intermediate course where students learn the principles of book design and apply these to the production of a critical edition for the UMM Press. Students leave the course with hands-on experience in publishing involving cover layout, interior design, printing and binding. This course encompasses traditional as well as emerging forms of book production. Working collaboratively, students will work to produce a single critical edition for the Library of Early Maine Literature, an imprint of the UMM Press. Students successfully completing this course will have their names listed in the publication credits for the published edition.
Prerequisites: ART 216 or permission of instructor.
