BIO 302 - Critical Reading and Verbal Reasoning Excellent critical reading skills are essential for scientists, social scientists, lawyers, medical personnel, and other professionals. This course will focus on building skills in discerning major themes of written materials, summarizing main points, identifying the intent of writing, and making conclusions. The course will develop students’ critical reading and verbal reasoning skills - the ability to analyze, evaluate, and complete arguments as they occur in ordinary language drawn from a wide variety of sources, from science, ethics, philosophy, anthropology, literature, health, psychology, social sciences, and humanities.
Prerequisites: ENG 101 and Sophomore standing
