AVS 231 - Sheep Management Cooperative Students will gain hands-on livestock experience through the management of a flock of sheep at University of Maine Witter Center. Responsibilities will include grazing management, feeding, reproductive management, health, finances and marketing of animals for breeding stock, fiber, pelts and meat products. Under the guidance of AVS Faculty, Witter Center staff and Sheep Club peer advisors, students will work together to manage the flock to optimize animal health and productivity.
Prerequisites: AVS 145 or permission
