POS 215 - American National Government An introductory study of the major principles, structures and practices of the United States government. The course emphasizes such topics as the Constitution and its development; the federal system; civil liberties and civil rights; public opinion, interest groups, political parties and elections; the Congress; the Supreme Court; the Presidency and the presidential establishment; domestic and foreign policy formation; government services and regulation; and the federal budget and federal taxation.
Prerequisites: Sophomore standing or permission of instructor.
