ENG 325 - Milestones of British Literature

Survey of English literature from the Anglo-Saxon period through Modernism. Students will gain familiarity with important authors and works from each period of British history. Students will also gain an insight into the changes in style and topic as reflected in the works of successive periods. More significantly, they will learn to recognize the period of a work by its style and be able to infer key ideas about the work from its chronological placement.

Prerequisites: ENG 101 and a 100-level literature course, or permission of instructor.
