SOC 318 - Sociology of the Family Analysis of the modern family begins with a socio-historical examination of the effects of love, gender and poverty. Major topics include marriage and divorce, sexual behavior, family violence, parenting and ethnic families. Current families are analyzed from a social psychological viewpoint that includes the dynamic structure of relationships.
General Education Requirements: Satisfies the General Education Social Contexts and Institutions Requirement.
Prerequisites: SOC 101 or permission.
