CIE 549 - Numerical Methods in Engineering Modern numerical methods for engineering analysis, including numerical linear algebra, numerical methods for solving nonlinear systems of equations, the solution of initial-value problems, finite-difference methods for boundary-value problems, iterative methods for large sparse systems of equations, and an introduction to optimization techniques. This course is identical to MEE 549.
Prerequisites: MAT 258 or MAT 259 and an introductory programming course, or permission of instructor.
