MAT 122 - Pre-Calculus Designed as a transitional course between high school algebra and college mathematics, particularly MAT 126. A quick review of high school algebra is followed by a detailed study of polynomial, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions, bearing in mind the needs of those who subsequently take calculus. (Note: Students who intend to go on to calculus should opt for MAT 122, Precalculus, instead of MAT 121. A maximum of four credits will be allowed for successful completion of both MAT 121 and MAT 122.)
Satisfies the General Education Mathematics Requirement.
Prerequisites & Notes Adequate performance on a departmental qualifying examination given during summer orientation and the first week of classes.
